Linking marine science, industry and government

I'm an entrepreneur in the European bio-marine sector and swapped my scientific career for an even more challenging one: building bridges between Government, Academia and the Industry. My work has always been my hobby and the other way around.

Although I was never trained in hard-core business, I focus on business development through innovation and collaboration where my skill is to realise and visualise early stage partnerships covering different operational levels. Having both a scientific and IT background I have for example positioned myself as intermediary between fishermen and scientists and fishermen and Internet Technology, where I apply new data visualisation tools that benefit both fisheries business and marine science.

I love solving challenges that arise from people around me and would search for solutions at an early stage. Having the 'can-do mentality' as one of my main strengths and often working with limited start-up funding I often involve students in the process: a win-win approach.
